New cinema lab set up in Chennai
May 7, 2012 PGVRavi Prasad Outdoor Unit has set up a cinema lab at Vadapalani in Chennai. Kodak Southpacific regional head Jerry has designed the new lab covering 25,000 sq.ft.
The lab was inaugurated on April 6. Several celebrities from the film industry attended the function.
Lab executive director P. Ravikumar told mailpersons that Ravi Prasad Outdoor Unit was started in 1978. The unit has been adapting to changing technology and providing cameras and all other equipment needed by the industry. The new lab has been set up using the latest technology. It uses UL Bleach to check environmental pollution. The lab has also all the facilities and equipment for shooting digital films.
Ravikumar said they have ensured that state-of-the art equipment and technology that are necessary to make a film are available under one roof. In addition, the lab has a 50-seat auditorium.
There are already some cinema labs, including Prasad, Gemini, Vijaya, Balaji and Reliance, in Chennai.
