The coming Deepavali festival promises to be very special as several new Tamil films are releasing on the occasion. Among them is Gemini Productions' "Vattaram" with Arya, Keerat Bhattal and Napoleon in the cast. Directed by Saran, the film is fully digitized and mastered in Thailand for special effects. Bharadwaj has scored the music.

Invitations have gone out for the function organized to launch the audio of the movie. The invitation is in the form of an encased micro DVD - a novel idea of Asian Sky Entertainments' CEO is Nag Ravi.

The diskette contains publicity photos, the movie trailer, a 10-minute exclusive video of the making of the film, samples of songs in MP3 and WAV format. It also includes the press release materials, world tour details and director Saran's profile. Outside India, Malaysia, Canada and US are the countries where promo tours are planned

The CDs carrying Arya's signature will be sold at what is described as 'road shows' at Spencer Plaza and City Centre in Chennai on Sept.29 under the auspices of Asian Sky Enterprises.

The action film, "Vattaram", set in Chennai, is Saran's second venture under his home banner "Gemini Productions" after "Idhaya Thirudan" which failed to click.

Arya plays the lead role as a man selling imported goods in Burma Bazaar. Delhi-based Keerat who had earlier modeled for Lakme and Sri Kumaran Silks, is making her debut as the heroine in this movie. Napoleon plays the key role of a rich sophisticated businessman and he wears a new look.

Commenting on his role, Arya said "My characterization in the film is unpredictable and I am sure it will take me to a different level."
