'Ondipuli' shooting launched

P.S. Studio production 'Ondipuli' has been launched. P. Raja Guru directs this film,

which underlines the importance of water.

German theatre artiste Eleena Hassan plays the female lead opposite 'Naai Kutty'

movie hero Selvin. Teaming up with them are Ponvannan, G.M. Kumar, 'Sevvazhai' Raj

and 'Paruthiveeran' Sujatha.

James Vasanth scores the music for the lyrics written by Vairamuthu. This is the

first time Vasanth and Vairamuthu are working together. Veteran director Bhimsingh's

daughter Sucharita Chander will associate with B Lenin in editing the film.

The shooting, which started on Dec.10, will continue in Tuticorin, Ramanathapuram,

Kanyakumari, Tirunelveli and Madurai districts.

Director Raja Guru says the film focuses on water. Despite increasing urbanization with people deserting their villages and migrating to towns to seek livelihood, there are rural folks who are stubbornly attached to their villages and refuse to move out for the love of the soil and culture. They live a pathetic life due to declining agriculture, drought, water scarcity and indebtedness. The film not only highlights the hardships of village life but also offers solutions.
