'Osthi' producer complains against poor screens

Ramesh, the producer of Simbu's forthcoming film 'Osthi', which is a remake of Salman Khan's Bollywood blockbuster 'Dabanngg', has come out with a statement that cinema halls in the state lack quality projectors and hence,the audience has to settle for low quality picture on screen.



The producer feels that "not only is the audience forced to watch low quality picture, but their eyes and ears are facing health threats because of such projectors,". The 'Osthi' team is now planning to meet Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa to seek her intervention in this regard. Ramesh, who earlier produced the Dhanush-starrer 'Uthamaputhiran' and is now making 'Osthi' on a grand budget, further said that there are prescribed norms for projectors to be installed at theatres.



"Cinema halls should install projectors of 4K resolution," he says adding that the Hollywood regulator for issues related to cinema technology prescribes the above norm for theatres worldwide. Click the Movie button below for more info:
