Director Selva's understudy P.Jayaseelan is busy with his debut directorial venture 'Pallikoodam Pogamale' which deals with issues concerning education, the youth and the generation gap. This film will be different from earlier ones on the subject. It will be mainly an entertainer.

With seven years of experience and guidance from Director Selva, Jayaseelam looks confident to go it alone

The debutant director has introduced new comers, Tejas, son of popular actor

Alex, and Aishwarya. The film also stars directors A Venkatesh and Rajkapur in important roles.

Speaking on the theme, Jayaseelan says most parents who were deprived of opportunities to get education, go all out to ensure that at least their children are educated. Without understanding their parents' feelings, students rebel and hurt them. Elders also to blame; they deny freedom to their children to express their likes and dislikes and plan their future. Unable to withstand the mounting pressure, children run away from home or take recourse to extreme steps like committing suicide.

In 'Pallikoodam Pogamale' Jayaseelan has tried to highlight the trials and tribulations both younger and older generations undergo and how the conflicts arising from the generation gap can be solved with greater understanding of the realities.

Most of the sequences have been shot in an educational institution in Kerala.
