Parthiban asks the centre to make Rs. 2012 coin

Actor Director Parthiban and innovative ideas are never far from each other. This time, he seems to come up with a really interesting one on souvenirs. Yes, the versatile actor has written a letter to the Union Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee suggesting that the government consider the idea of minting coins bearing the emblem India 2012 and having a value of Rs. 2012.

In the letter he said,'' If such coins are minted by the end of this year, people will buy them and gift them as New Year souvenirs and also keep them in their personal collections. Even if 25 percent of the Indian population and 50 percent of the NRIs buy or gift these coins, it will mean additional revenue to the centre government''.
