Paul J scores over A.R. Rahman

Chennai, Nov 14 (IANS) After staying on top for many weeks, A.R. Rahman's "Chillunu Oru Kathal" has given way to new albums.

The top five Tamil albums are:

1. "Kizhakku Kadarkarai Salai" - Music: Paul J - The young crowd is lapping up the debut album by Paul J, which has some very fast numbers. The album is expected to do better with the film releasing this week.

2. "E" - Music: Srikant Deva - The film is turning out to be a surprise hit, and so is the music album. Especially popular is the song "Theeppori Parakkum" sung by Tipu and chorus.

3. "Thiruvilayadal Aarambham" - Music: D. Imam - The song "Ennamma kannu" by Karthik and Ranjith is a huge hit.

4. "Vaathiyar" - Music: D. Imam - "Vaathiyar" was expected to release during Diwali but got delayed due to various reasons. Meanwhile, the album by D. Imam has hit the market and is doing reasonably well.

5. "Vallavan" - Music: Yuvan Shankar Raja - "Loose penne" sung by Silambarasan is still hugely popular but the film is not doing well.
