Playback singer Malaysia Vasudevan dead
Feb 21, 2011 PSVeteran singer and well- known actor Malaysia Vasudevan passed away in a city hospital on Sunday. The singer, who has sung over 8,000 songs in Tamil and over 4,000 songs in the other South Indian languages, has also acted in several films. He was acting in a film when he complained of breathlessness. He was admitted to a private hospital in the city, where he passed away at around 1pm.
Malaysia Vasudevan was introduced to the industry by the legendary M S Vishwanathan in the film 'Delhi to Madras'. But it was Ilayaraja who promoted the singer to the maximum. He was known for his heart rending songs, especially the ones in blockbusters 'Pathinaaru Vayathinilae', 'Mudhal Mariyathai', 'Arunachalam' and 'Kizhakku Cheemaiyile'.
