Chennai, Dec 11 (IANS) "Polladhavan", the surprise Deepavali hit starring Dhanush, is still doing extremely well at the box office. However, two new releases "Kalloori" and "Evano Oruvan", which received excellent reviews, are expected to do better in the coming weeks and reach the top slot.

The top five Tamil films are:

1. "Polladhavan" - Director: Vettrimaran. Director Vettrimaran, who was an assistant of Balu Mahendra, has done very well for himself by making a slick flick. There is a huge demand for its remake rights.

2. "Vel" - Director: Hari. The combination of Hari and Surya Sivakumar has done well at the B and C centres.

3. "Kalloori" - Director: Balaji Shaktivel. The success of his last film "Kaadhal" is helping in pulling the crowds for "Kalloori". And he has not disappointed anyone. Set in a rural college, it is a beautiful film.

4. "Evano Oruvan" - Director: Nishikant Kamat. A remake of the award-winning Marathi film "Dombivli Fast", the film has outstanding performances by everyone, especially R. Madhavan. The actor makes the film compelling viewing.

5. "Oram Po" - Director: Pushkar and Gayathri. Although the film about auto racers in Chennai had a very slow start because actor Arya is not a crowd puller, the light entertainer has not disappointed anyone.
