Pooja performed for Prasanna's new film

Sep 25, 2008 PVS

Prasanna's new film is titled "Naikutty" (Puppy). The pooja was performed at AVM Pillaiyar Kovil in Chennai on Sept.24 morning. The shooting will start next month.

V.A.Dorai, producer of Vikram-starrer "Pithamagan", and Sadaji will be producing the film under the direction of debutant S.S. Joe, a former associate of Ram Subbu, who made "Kattrathu Thamizh" which was acclaimed as a realistic film.

Nicole, an upcoming actress, plays the heroine in this film.

Prasanna plays an orphan from a slum in Chennai. As a baby he is abandoned by his mother in a dust bin amidst some puppies. A rickshawpuller acting as a Good Samaritan rescues the child and adopts him. How he grows up to be a smart guy is the rest of the story.

The film will have music by Sundar C Babu.

Director Joe was conspicuous by his absence at the film's pooja. It is said Dorai and Sadaji narrated the story to Prasanna and he was impressed and agreed to act in the film. Subsequently, Sadaji is said to have made some changes in the script and this angered Joe. Dorai, however, denied any rift between the producers and Joe. When mediapersons tried to contact Joe, he could not be reached.
