Bollywood producer Boney Kapoor plans to make "Pokkiri" in Hindi. Prabhu Deva, who directed 'Pokkiri' in Tamil starring Vijay and Asin, will direct the Hindi version also, according to sources.

The original Telugu version of the film was the blockbuster of the year 2006 which catapulted the hero, Mahesh Babu, into instant stardom.

Produced by Ramesh Babu, the Tamil version of 'Pokiri" was released on Pongal day and has since been running to full houses all over Tamil Nadu. This movie is choreographer-turned- director Prabhu Deva's first directorial venture in Tamil. His first two films as director in Telugu – Nuvastanantae Nenodantana and Pournami -- received rave reviews.

A couple of years ago Boney Kapoor is reported to have signed Prabbu Deva for a Hindi movie based on a love story. But they could not embark on the project immediately as they could not find a good story. They had decided to wait till a good script was available.

Boney Kapoor saw 'Pokiri" recently and was impressed by the 'racy screenplay and pulsating action sequences". He is now reportedly keen on making the Hindi version of 'Pokiri'. For his part, Prabhu Deva also is said to be ready to start work on the Hindi version of 'Pokiri'.
