Prabhu Deva to direct 'Siruthai' Hindi version

May 30, 2011 PS

Karthi's last release, 'Siruthai', will soon be remade in Hindi by none other than actor-turned-director Prabhu Deva.

Incidentally, 'Siruthai' is the remake of the Telugu blockbuster 'Vikramarkudu', which had Ravi Teja in the lead. In Tamil, it was Karthi who played dual role for the first time in his career. The film, that starred Tamanaah and Santhanam, was one of the biggest hits in K-town this year, which also catapulted Karthi to the big league.

Akshay Kumar has been approached to play the lead role in the Hindi version and the leading lady is yet to be finalized. The film will be produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali's production house. Prabhu Deva is currently busy with the Vishal project, tentatively titled 'Prabhakaran'. He will complete this film by June and tie the knot with Nayantara in July and begin the Bollywood flick, say his recent statement.
