Prakash Raj is gearing up for the grand release of his first Kollywood directorial venture 'Dhoni'. The actor-producer has turned a director with the making of 'Abhiyum Naanum' in Kannada.

Prakash Raj himself has written the script for 'Dhoni' and also produced and acted in it. The film deals with the pressure that children undergo these days in schools, illustrating the conflict of interests of a father and his son _ while the father wants his son to do MBA, his son is more interested in becoming a cricketer like Mahendra Singh Dhoni, the captain of the Indian cricket team.

Last week, Prakash Raj launched the first look of 'Dhoni' on a micro blogging site.

He says, 'The movie is a critique of the education system prevalent in the country that puts undue stress on the hapless students without paying heed to their naturual abilities.'

Ace director Puru Jagannath's son, Akash Puri, is playing Prakash Raj's son in the flick.

The others in the cast are Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Mugdha Godse, Radhika Apte, Bahmanandam, Nasser and Thalaivasal Vijay. Prabhu Deva makes a guest appearance.

While Ilayaraja scores music, K.V. Guhan handles choreography. Duet Movies are the distributors. Click the Movie button below for more info:
