Madhavan's "Evano Oruvan" has been in the news for the last three days after the young and dashing actor personally wrote a note and sent it down a national financial daily stating that in his opinion, this is one of his best films till date. "With my latest venture, I am attempting something that has never been done before in Tamil cinema," he claimed.

Madhavan's newly floated Production Company; "Leukos Films" has been bustling with activities these days. "Evano Oruvan" is his company's maiden production. Madhavan will personally oversee the marketing and distribution of the film.

The film is a remake of the award-winning Marathi film titled "Dombvili Fast", directed by Nishikanth Kamat. It won 27 international awards and the national award for the best film. Nishikanth Kamat also directs the Tamil version. Pairing with Madhavan is Sangeetha. Another main character is Seeman. The story is about an ordinary middle class man struggling to live by his principles in a world steeped in corruption.

The Tamil film was shot entirely in Chennai and completed in just 31 days. The final phase of post-production and promotional activities is in full swing. According to current plans, the film will be released on Dec. 7 in India and abroad.

Prior to its release, there will be special screenings in "select cities across the world". Los Angeles and New York in US and Bahrain, Oman, Dubai, Qatar and Abu Dhabi in the Middle East are among the places where the previews will be held on invitation, according to sources.

Asked whether the film has been made for the film festival circuit, Madhavan reportedly said this is a hardcore, straightforward Tamil film, and it will not be released abroad first. (To compete in film festivals, a film has to be released in the country of production first.)

He said he had to really work hard for this film. With all his earlier projects there was a certain amount of dissatisfaction, things that he wished he had done before. 'Evano Oruvan" has given him an "unprecedented level of satisfaction".

In his note to the financial newspaper, Madhavan expressed the hope that he would continue to get the same support in his new job as a producer as he had in his growth as an actor.
