Prithviraj, who is becoming increasingly popular in Tamil cinema with his boy next-door image and soft and romantic comedies, has signed for a Telugu film too which is yet to be named.

He is currently acting in "Kangaroo" and "Thalappavu" in Malayalam, besides "Vellithirai" in Tamil. "Kannamoochi Yaenada" produced by Raadan Media Works is releasing for Deepavali and the grapevine has it that Prithviraj has given an "extraordinary performance". Veteran Satyaraj, Radhika and Sandhya play key roles along with Prithviraj in this movie, which is directed by Priya V.

The upcoming "Vellithirai" is Prithviraj's second film in which he shares screen space with Prakash Raj after "Mozhi", which is a super-hit. "Vellithirai" is a remake of Malayalam film titled "Udayananu Tharam" featuring Mohanlal. Duet Movies of Prakash Raj is producing the Tamil remake.

Prithviraj plays the main character that Ayn Rand has depicted in her best-selling novel "The Fountain Head". He says he has accepted the role after he read the novel in full. "Before signing up for a project, I look at the film as a whole and not just my character in it, and this has worked in my favor," he is quoted as saying.

Speaking about his acting career in general, he says he is very happy that "Chocolate" made in Malayalam was a big success. In this movie he acted as the lone male student in a women's college. He is fortunate that good roles came his way at a young age. "I give importance to stories rather than salary," he stresses.
