'Kanda Naal Mudhal,' was her maiden film. This soft romantic film featuring Prasanna, Karthik Kumar and Laila in the lead roles went well with the young and families. We are talking about Priya V, who trained under director Mani Ratnam before taking the plunge into film making.

Priya's second film, 'Kannaamoochi Enadaa' will be released shortly. Talking about the film, she says, "Kannaamoochi Enadaa is all about the game of hide and seek people seem to play in their relationships. Why do we all wear masks and pretend to be what we are not?"

"It is a fun filled feel good film, a pleasant surprise for the audience," she adds. The film has Prithviraj, Sathyaraj in the main roles and it is the conflict between the two that forms the crux of the story.

Radikaa and Sandhya play the main women characters while Sri Priya of yesteryears does a cameo. The lyrics are by Tamarai. Yuvan Shankar Raja has scored the music. The film is being produced by Radaan Media works India Ltd. and UTV.

So how was it working with senior artistes?

Priya says, "A wonderful new experience. Radikaa Sarath Kumar has always encouraged fresh talent. A dedicated and fine actress, she got into the skin of the character with ease."

"She plays a character many women can identify themselves with. Like the proverbial cat on the wall, this character is traditional yet confused about being modern," adds this fan of Sathyaraj.

Besides directing the film, Priya has penned the story and screenplay. The dialogues have been written by A. Siva Kumar, an ex assistant to Mani Ratnam and who directed Chukkallo Chandrudu in Telugu. Cinematography is by Preetha, who makes her debut into films. Preetha underwent training under none other but P.C. Sreeram.

"Preetha has done a fantastic job in this film. "She has worked with me in my television serials and documentaries," says the director who entered Tamil Cinema on the sets of 'Indira,' as assistant to actor-director Suhasini Mani Ratnam.

On Sandhya's role, she says, "She is a young student in the film. She portrays the role of today's youngster who strikes a perfect balance between tradition and the new world. Sandhya is extremely talented and has done a fine job."

Looking back on her maiden film, Priya says, "Personally, I have moved onto a bigger scale this time. Going outdoors for shoot, in Malaysia, Pollachi and Ooty as well as directing the stunt scenes, it has all been a learning experience."
