National award winner Priyamani is pairing with Bharat for "Arumugam" directed by ace Director Suresh Krishna.

This is the first time Priyamani and Bharat are coming together. While Priyamani has shot to fame after the stupendous success of "Paruthiveeran" and won the national award for best actress, Bharat has graduated to an action hero from a boy-next-door after "Palani".

Cool Productions, which produced "Pidichirukku", is producing "Arumugam".

The story is about how a youth who runs a roadside iddli shop challenges a big industrialist who humiliates his mother and teaches the industrialist a bitter lesson.

Bharat plays the owner of the iddli shop while veteran actress Seetha dons the role of his mother.

Ramya Krishnan plays the rich and arrogant industrialist. Her character has the shades of grey as Nilambari in Rajini-starrer "Padayappa". "Arumugam" sees her back in Tamil after a while.

Priyamani is given a very glamorous role.

Deva scores music for the new film which will have five songs. Deva once worked with Director Suresh Krishna and gave superhit songs in "Badsha" and "Annamalai".

The shooting of the film will start on Sept.6 in Hyderabad. A song featuring the lead pair will be picturised first.

The cast includes Saranya Mohan, Karunas, and Ilavarasu.

Perarasu, Pa Vijay and Snehan provide the lyrics. The cinematographer is S.K. Bhupathi. The story, screenplay and dialogue are by Premji.

Suresh Krishna is said to feel that among the young actors Bharat has the potential to become a mass hero.

Bharat-starrer "Seval" directed by Hari has just been completed.
