Rahman is back but not with a bang

Chennai, Aug 19 (IANS) A.R. Rahman fans have greeted his new album "Ah..Aah" for S.J. Suryah warmly, but not as much as everybody expected. Here go the top five Tamil film albums:

1. "Ah..Aah" (A.R. Rahman): The song that is the most popular from the Rahman album is his own song, "Anbe Aaruyire". It seems the other songs have to wait.

2. "Thotti Jaya" (Harris Jayaraj): With the release of Harris Jayaraj's new album, "Thotti Jaya", his own "Anniyan" has taken a backseat. But "Thotti Jaya" is not one of the better albums of Jayaraj.

3. "Oru Kallooriyin Katha" (Yuvan Shankar Raja): It seems that every week a new album of Yuvan Shankar Raja is being released in Chennai. Yes, quantity has affected quality.

4. "Oru Naal Oru Kanavu" (Ilayaraja): Maestro Ilayaraja's album still remains in the top five. It is expected that with the release of the film directed by Balu Mahendra, the album may pick up sales.

5. "Priyasakhi" (Vidyasagar): Vidyasagar's album is only doing as well as the film, that is, just average.
