Superstar Rajinikanth returned to Chennai from Hong Kong in the early hours of May 17 after participating in the shooting of 'Kochadaiyan'. He had left Chennai on May 12 for Bangkok en route to Hong Kong.

Rajini's daughter Soundarya directs the film. After the 20-day London schedule the unit had moved on to Trivandrum where some scenes were filmed. Rajinikanth stayed in Hong Kong for four days and completed his portion there.

Rajini's flight (Cathy Pacific) landed at 1.30 a.m on May 17. Fans who noticed him when he was coming to get into his car after alighting from the aircraft, rushed in to greet him, but airport police stopped them. Rajini waved to them and sped off.

Meanwhile, Bollywood actor Jackie Shroff, who plays the role of a king and the antagonist in Kochadaiyan, has expressed happiness about the way his role has shaped up. He finished with his share of shooting for the film in London where he shot for some combat scenes with Rajini.

"It was interesting sharing screen space with the superstar after two decades. Last time he and I shot for a commercial Hindi film. This time the experience was surreal," he told reporters.

Shroff's debut film in Kollywood 'Aaranya Kaandam' won two national awards. His next is with Rajini's Kochadaiyan. Hinting that he wants to do more Tamil films, he said,"I am sure my third one will only be bigger."

He said he had the first - hand experience of the performance capturing technology that is being used in making Kochadaiyan for the first time in the country.

Actor Sarathkumar also shot his part in London.

Soundarya is said to be working frenetically to complete the shooting and get the film ready for Deepavali release.
