Rajini to meet fan club leaders on Monday
Nov 2, 2008 PVSRajini fans club leaders' hope of having a meeting with their icon is revived again with reports that the superstar has promised to give them audience in Chennai on Monday (11/3/2008).
English daily reported today that Rajinikanth has promised to meet seven to ten district level office-bearers of the fan clubs from 32 districts in Tamil Nadu on Monday morning at his Ragavendra Kalyanamandapam in the City.
Om Sekar, Chennai district president of the Rajini fan clubs, has been quoted as saying that "we have been asked to assemble at the marriage hall by 8 a.m. on Nov.3. He (Rajini) is expected by 10 a.m. Up to 10 office-bearers of the fan clubs from each district will be allowed"
Confirming this Thanjavur district president Rajini Ganesan reportedly said, "Our district fan clubs' determination has finally yielded fruit. Today I got a phone call from the headquarters (Chennai) that Rajini has agreed to meet the district level functionaries."
The newspaper quoted sources close to Rajini as saying that the superstar would explain his stand on the fans' persistent demand that he should enter politics.
According to these sources, though Rajini has no plans to enter politics immediately, he has agreed to the Nov.3 meeting because of mounting pressure from the fan clubs.
