Post the phenomenal success of 'Endhiran', Superstar Rajnikanth has moved on to his next. And guess what, he's penned the story of 'Rana'!

"Yes, he wrote the story," revealed director K S Ravikumar at the press meet of the film held recently, "I've done the screenplay and will direct the film, which will be set in the 17th century."

Ravikumar earlier worked with the Superstar on the blockbuster 'Padayappa'. The film 'Rana', he believes, will reach out to the global audience. "Rajni sir will play three roles in the film," he said, "As of now, Deepika Padukone is in the film and Sonu Sood will play the main villain role. We're still in the process of finalizing the rest of the cast."

The film, which will be shot in places like London and Chennai, is expect to be shot in about 220 days. "There are six songs in the film. Composer AR Rahman has already given us one song and is giving final touches to the second number sung by SPB, which will be Rajni's intro song."
