Rana drops out of Metri Maaran's 'Vada Chennai'

Actor Rana Duggabati has dropped out of director Vetri Maaran's project 'Vada Chennai' which has Simbu (STR) in the lead. After signing, he had attended a one-day workshop conducted by Vetri. Shooting has not started yet.

The development has raised many eyebrows. Vetri was happy to have Rana in his project and Rana also seemed upbeat about working with Vetri. Both have now given different reasons for the snap.

' Vada Chennai' was Rana's first Tamil film. He says he feels very sad that he has to opt out of it. Vetri had wanted bulk dates through March. His Telugu film 'Naa Ishtam' and Hindi film 'Department', were already much delayed and he must give them priority. He also just began shooting for a new Telugu film. He could not accommodate a new film in the next six months. His Tamil debut is long overdue and his next film will be in Tamil, he affirms.

Vetri Maaran's version is that Rana had told him about 10 days ago that he would be unable to work for his project as he was uncomfortable with a few things in his character in 'Vada Chennai'. 'I guess Rana had a different kind of expectation from his character in this film. He felt the role would not suit him and his career plans in Kollywood.' Click the Movie button below for more info:
