'Rendavathu Padam' will be funny: Amudhan

Jul 28, 2012 PGV

C.S. Amudhan, who directed ‘Tamil Padam’ is now focused on his next film ‘Rendavathu Padam’.

The film is almost done and Amudhan needs just ten more days to finish it.

Richard, Vimal and Arvind Akash are playing the lead roles along with Remya Nambeesan and Vijayalakshmi. One of the highlights is a song, a like of which has not been heard so far, says Amudhan.

The audio will be launched by the end of next month and the film will hit the screens by September.

“It is difficult to classify this film, but I can assure you it will be funny. This is not a spoof like my first film Tamil Padam, but we are trying to take the audience through many genres,” adds the director.

‘Tamil Padam’ has been remade in Telugu as ‘Sudigadu’ but its director is not Amudhan. The trailer of the Telugu remake has reportedly received good response from several celebrities, notably Director S.S. Rajamouli.

Asked if he regrets not having directed the Telugu version as well, Amudhan says, “Not at all. I definitely wanted to do a Telugu film, but not the remake of Tamil Padam. To be honest, I am now bored with that story.” Click the Movie button below for more info:
