The buzz is that ‘Madrasapattinam’ heroine Amy Louise Jackson has been paid Rs. 75 lakh for starring in Shankar’s upcoming film ‘I’. She pairs up with Vikram in the film.

21-year-old British Beauty Pageant titleholder and Miss Teen World competition winner, Amy made her Indian film debut with A.L. Vijay’s ‘Madrasapattinam’ in 2010 playing opposite Arya. This film won her plaudits and heralded her acting career.

Blossoming into a leading actress in hardly two years, she has bagged many more projects than her contemporaries. This year she made her debut in Hindi too with ‘Ekk Deewana Tha’ along with Prateik Babbar. Her starpower has also brought her big bucks.

A source close to Shankar’s project has confirmed that Amy has been paid Rs.75 lakh. For ‘Madrasapattinam’, she received only Rs. 5 lakh. Her stock surged upwards to Rs.45 lakh or maybe Rs.50 lakh when A.L. Vijay again booked her for his second Vikram starrer ‘Thandavam’.

‘Ekk Deewana..’ flopped , but down south, Amy has created such an impact that for film-makers, it seems, money does’nt matter in her case.

In ‘Madrasapattinam’ she was taught to utter a few Tamil words with English accent . She has since learnt the language that is good enough to dub for herself in ‘Thandavam’. Click the Movie button below for more info:
