Samy apologises, Padmapriya back on Mirugam sets

Chennai: Director Samy, who allegedly slapped actress Padmapriya during the shooting of the Tamil film titled 'Mirugam' last week, resulting in the Tamil Film Producers Council and the South Indian Film Artistes Association declaring him a 'persona non grata' and restraining him from making any film for a year, has tendered his unconditional apology to the actress. With this the controvery has ended.


The shooting of 'Mirugam' resumed on Oct. 16 at Kurindi, near Madurai with Padmapriya participating in it. She figured in only scene on the day the filming restarted. After she finished with her part, she left immediately for Chennai.


The shooting continued on the second day also (Oct.17) with Samy handling the megaphone.


Padmapriya would have returned from Chennai for the third day's shooting on Oct. 18 at the same location (Kurindi), according to unit sources. News of confirmation of her participation in the filming of scenes featuring her on Oct. 18 is yet to reach Chennai.


The actress had complained last week-end to the producers and artistes associations that director Samy had abused and slapped her while filming the movie.The director behaved like a psycho on the sets. Even after the shooting hours, he tried to misbehave, she alleged.


The action taken against Samy by the Tamil Film Producers Council (TFPC) and the South Indian Film Artistes Association (SIFAA) had been hailed by women activists and human rights groups in Tamil Nadu. Click the Movie button below for more info:
