Sarath Kumar gets a role in Tamil remake of 'Traffic'

Rajesh Pillai, who directed the Malayalam film 'Traffic', has signed actor Sarath Kumar for a role in the Tamil remake of it. The film was based on a real incident that took place in Chennai.

While confirming that Sarath Kumar has been taken on board, director Rajesh is non-committal on Kamal Haasan who is said to have expressed interest in playing the role of the movie star, essayed by Rahman in the original.

The buzz is that Kamal wanted the shooting to begin by the end of October to enable him to adjust his dates (he is currently preoccupied with 'Viswaroopam'), but Rajesh was committed to completing the Hindi remake of 'Traffic' first.

The Tamil remake is reportedly in the pre-production stage and filming is expected to begin only by February next year.

Whether Kamal is still in the reckoning is a million dollar question.
