Selva: I never cast busy stars in my films

Director Selvaraghavan , who is busy working on 'Irandam Ulagam', says he never casts 'busy stars' in his films. He has taken up 'Irandam Ulagam' after the release of Dhanush-starrer 'Mayakkam Enna' last year.

Arya and Anushka play the lead roles in 'Irandam Ulagam'. Nearly 35 per cent of the shooting has been completed. Recently he shot portions of the film in Goa for 15 days. It was a month-long schedule, but the unit had to cut short its stay in Goa and return to Chennai because of the situation created by the FEFSI and the Producers Council over the issue of wage increase for employees. The shooting will resume soon.

According to Selva, both Arya and Anushka play dual roles. Radhika and Y.Gee. Mahandran also do important characters. Since Arya and Anushka are professional actors, he faced no difficulty during the shoot. Nor was there any interference from them. Excepting the hero and the heroine, no other 'busy actors' have been cast. Before the start of the shooting of 'Irandam Ulagam' actor Shiva Karthikeyan was not busy. He has become busy now and so he is not acting in this film. Barring Arya and Anushka, all other actors are new faces.

Selva stresses that as a policy he never selects 'busy stars' for his films.
