'Sembattai' cleared and given U/A certificate

GS Studios production ‘Sembattai’, directed by I. Ganesh, has been cleared by the Censor Board and given an U/A certificate.

Dilipan, Gauri Nambiar, Sreejith and Dhanushri are featured in the film, which is about the close-knit fishermen community. The emotional bonding between two brothers is essayed in this sentimental drama.

Censors, who watched the movie, found four scenes and some dialogues were objectionable and wanted them to be removed to qualify for a ‘U’ certificate.

Director Ganesh said since the cuts suggested would distort the story they accepted the U/A certificate though this grade would not make them eligible for the tax benefit.

The film would release this month, Ganesh said. Sri Raghav is the music director.
