Actress and famous Bharatanatyam dancer Shobana has joined the big league of actors for Rajini-starrer 'Kochadaiyaan', which is a motion-capture film.

Soundarya Aswin Rajinikanth, who has conceived the project and will be directing it in association with ace director K.S. Ravikumar, confirms that Shobana has been roped in to play an important role in the film.

Shobana has shared screenspace with Rajinikanth in 'Siva' and 'Dhalapathi'. While 'Dhalapathi' was a big hit, 'Siva' was not very successful.

Refusing to reveal details about the character Shobana will play, Soundarya says 'There was no one other than Shobana aunty on my mind when we came up with this character in the film. The audience will have to wait and see if she will be paired with Appa (Rajini). But I am just so glad she is a part of this venture.'

'We will also reveal the first look of the film when we go on floors,' she added.

The bustling activity in Soundarya-Ravikumar camp is indicative of the fact that they are in a tearing hurry to get the project going at the earliest. Everyday there is some development or another. The cast is getting bigger by the day. The name of Katrina Kaif is being mentioned for the female lead. Aadhi, Prithviraj and Sneha and some other leading actors have joined the 'Kochadaiyaan' bandwagon.

It is said Soundarya and Ravikumar have been shuttling between Chennai and Mumbai to finalise the cast and also to help A.R. Rahman to work on the tunes. State-of- the-art cameras and other cine equipment have already been imported and set up in a studio in Chennai.

A press note containing details of the entire cast and crew will be officially released by the end of this month followed by a press briefing. Click the Movie button below for more info:
