Director Karu Pazhaniappan is busy shooting "Pirivom Sandhippom" with Cheran and Sneha in the lead. Nearly 35 other well-known artistes play different roles.

The unit was at Karaikudi recently to shoot a whole song showcasing the Chettinad customs, including a Chettinad wedding. "It has come out well," according to Pazhaniappan, who is from the same community.

The story is about the best of the joint family system and how it fosters relationships. There is no hero or heroine as such. Nor are there dream songs or fights. There is no song for Cheran. The cast consists of as many as 17 women, all in traditional costumes.

The huge cast includes Mouli, Balasingh, Shanmugarajan, M.S. Bhaskar, Meesai Murugesh, S.N. Lakshmi, Sangeetha, Rajalakshmi, Devadharshini, Vittal and Mahadevan.

The film is produced by A. Subaskaran and Raju Mahalingam for Gnanam Films Private Ltd. Senthil is the executive producer. Pazhaniappan has written the story, screenplay and dialogue. M.S. Prabhu is the cameraman. Vidyasagar is the music director and Rajeevan is the art director.

This is the second film after "Sollamarandha Kathai" in which Cheran is only acting without being a director or producer. According to him, "Pirivom Sandhippom" is so different that he is happy to be involved in it. "The story is the first hero and the second hero is the director," he says.

This is not the first time Sneha is working with Karu Pazhaniapan who featured her in "Parthiban Kanavu". Sneha plays the role of a Karaikudu girl named Visalakshi, affectionately called Sala. Click the Movie button below for more info:
