Shruti Haasan heads back in '3' to romance Dhanush
Aug 18, 2011 PSActress Shruti Haasan is back in Aishwaryaa Dhanush's directorial debut, '3', again. The Haasan girl, who was the original choice to star opposite Dhanush in the project, is replacing Amala Paul. Amala has apparently opted out because of conflicting schedules.
Confirming the news, Aishwaryaa says, "Yes, Shruti has been roped in to play the lead opposite Dhanush. Amala had given us bulk dates, but one of her ongoing projects got delayed. We are not in a position to delay our schedule for her as it will delay the entire shooting of the film. Hence, we have parted ways amicably,". Since then, it has been a casting coup of sorts for the daughters of the two legendary actors - Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan - to come together for a project.
This sudden announcement in change of heroine has the industry buzzing as to why and how Shruti was back in the project. It's rumoured that Amala had taken an advance for '3' but not signed the agreement. Meanwhile, she signed on for Naga Chaitanya's film as she was apparently getting a much higher fee than 3. According to a source, the end result was a clash of dates and perhaps, egos as well. Amala, for her part, says, "I'm not doing '3'. The makers required bulk dates and I couldn't spare it due to prior commitments,".
