Shruti Haasan is a star now, says Kamal

Kamal Haasan is proud of her daughter Shruti Haasan. He says she is a 'star' now and he would like to make a film with her under the banner of his own production house.

Shruti was introduced to cinema through films produced by others and not his Raj Kamal International. She has acted in Tamil as well as Hindi films and come up on her own, Kamal gushes.

The only time she worked for Raj Kamal International was when 'Unniapol Oruvan' was made. She was the music director for the film which featured Kamal and Mohan Lal.

He says the question repeatedly posed to him is whether he would act with Shruti Haasan and she has also expressed this desire. His answer is that without a good script, it would be like making a film for name's sake.

The veteran actor is happy that she is not only his daughter but also a tutor. During the shooting of 'Viswaroopam' some portions required that he should speak English with American accent. Just when he was looking for help, Shruti returned from America and gave him practice.

As for his other daughter Akshara, Kamal says she is not so much interested in acting as being behind the camera. 'I too started my film career like Akshara.'.
