South Indian International Movie Awards festival in Dubai

The South Indian Movie Awards (SIIMA) festival will be held in Dubai on June 21 and 22.

This is the first time such an event has been organized exclusively for South Indian films.

The aim of SIIMA is to extend the reach of South Indian films to international audiences.

Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada film personalities will participate in the Dubai festival. Films in these four languages released in 2011 will be judged and awards presented under 19 categories .

Special juries will choose the award winners from among those voted for by fans on the internet.

Top stars from Kollywood, Tollywood, Mollywood and Sandalwood will stage a glittering variety show.

On the first day (June 21) there will be premiers of the films which raised great expectations. Stars featuring in these films will be given a red carpet welcome.

Actor Madhavan and actresses Parvathy Omanakuttan Nair and Lakshmi Manchu will act as comperes.
