After a gap of 14 years, Sridevi has returned to acting. Her upcoming film is titled ‘English Vinglish’, a bilingual in Hindi and Tamil, directed by Gauri Shinde and produced by Balki. Ajit appears in a guest role in the film.

Sridevi, who dominated not only Tamil cinema, but also the Telugu film industry and Bollywood in the 80s, was in Chennai in connection with the launch of the film’s trailer.

Talking to mediapersons after attending the function, Sridevi said though she has settled in Mumbai, she has not stopped watching Tamil movies. She would act again in Tamil films provided filmmakers come up with good scripts. She would also accept offers to act with Rajini and Kamal.

"My comeback was not planned. This is the first time I am doing a film with a woman director. My acting in ‘English Linglish’ after a gap of several years gives her the feeling that she has taken a break for just two days. My children have grown up and so I have comeback. I plan to do one film every year. I have no political ambitions. I cannot say now whether my children would enter cinema," Sridevi said.

Gauri Shinde, Balki and Priya Anand were present with Sridevi when she talked to mediapersons.
