'Sultan - The Warrior' will be rechristened
Aug 22, 2011 PSSoundarya Rajinikanth's 'Sultan-The Warrior' is being prepared on a war footing, say trade sources.
The film that is part animation, part live and will be in 3D, has Superstar Rajinikanth in the lead and was originally meant to be Soundarya's birthday gift for her father when he turns 60 in December 2011. However, it doesn't look like it will turn out so. It is expected to come out in January 2012 because the animation work has taken longer than anticipated.
This will be Rajini's next release. 'Rana', according to reliable sources, should start shooting earliest in November 2011, so 'Sultan' will pip 'Rana' to the post. One hears that even as the post production work is on in full swing, the makers of the film are looking for suitable titles for 'Sultan-The Warrior' in Tamil. Says our source, "Two to three names have been shortlisted and very soon, there will be an announcement on the actual Tamil title.''
Almost the entire animation, that is on par with the best in the world, has been done locally at Soundarya's Ocher Studios. Despite the inordinate delay there is a tremendous curiosity about 'Sultan' because Rajinikanth is the first real action hero in the the country to get animated.
