Superstar Rajinikanth clapped and cheered as the audio and trailer of ‘ Sivaji’ in 3D were released on Aug.13 at Prasad Lab Theatre in Chennai.

The original film was produced by AVM Productions and directed by Shankar. It featured Rajini with Shreya. It has now been converted into 3D. It is said 400 technicians worked in three shifts a day for one year on the project. The duration of the 3D film is two hours and 17 minutes.

AVM Saravanan, M.S. Guhan, Aruna, art director Thotta Tharani, editor Antony, Sai Prasad and Ananda L. Suresh and others attended the function. Director S.P. Muthuraman acted as a compeer.

Rajini, who was a special invitee, first listened to the songs wearing 3D glasses. He then watched the Tamil, Telugu and Hindi versions of the film in 3D format.

Later, replying to mediapersons’ queries, the superstar said AVM had only recently informed him that ‘Sivaji’ had been converted into 3D. He wondered how they had kept it confidential even from him for more than one year.

He said he clapped and enjoyed the film in 3D The thought that it was he who had played the lead in it did not cross his mind as he watched it. Especially mega movies in 3D amazed viewers in general, he said and suggested that his ‘Enthiran’ and ‘Padayappa’ also be converted into 3D. In the use of modern technology, Tamil cinema was nearing Hollywood. It was not difficult to make a strait 3D film, but converting 2D films into 3D was an arduous task. In future most of the films would be in 3D, Rajini said. Click the Movie button below for more info:
