
Trisha declines comment on role in 'Marmayogi'
Aug 26, 2008 PVSTrisha has declined to comment on media reports that she is teaming up with Kamal Haasan in his next Rs. 1.25 billion venture, "Marmayogi".
She was reportedly contacted when she was shooting for the Telugu film "King" with Nagarjuna in Hyderabad and she said it was premature of about it and did not want to make any comment as of now.
Reliable sources, however, said Trisha would soon sign the agreement and a Kamal-Trisha photo session is likely to be held after the formalities are gone through. According to them, when Kamal narrated the script to Trisha she was totally overwhelmed and immediately gave her nod. . She has been asked to allocate six months for the venture and is understood have given a 100-day call sheet to start with.
Trisha could not team up with Kamal Haasan in "Dasavatharam" due to prior commitments.
She is presently working on three films _ "King", Goutham Menon's "Chennayil Oru Mazhai Kaalam" and Vishnuvardhan's "Sarvam".
The names of Shreya, Kajol and Padmapriya were doing the rounds, but it is not yet known whether they are out of the race with the producers zeroing in on Trisha.
Only Bollywood star Hema Malini has so far signed the film. She earlier featured in Kamal's "Hey Ram".
Pyramid Saimira and Kamal Haasan's production house Rajakamal Films International are producing the film.
P.S.Swaminathan, chairman of Pyramid Saimira has said "Marmayogi" is a trilingual film to be made in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi, and an English version is also being planned.
According to an IANS report, "Marmayogi", the costliest Indian film to date, is based on Marie Corelli's 1886 novel "Vendetta: The Story of One Forgotten".
