One of the most awaited movies of 2007 'Dasavatharam' will have 2004 Tsunami scenes which the makers are trying to shoot artificially. "Dasavatharam'' features Kamal Haasan along with Asin, Jayaprada and Mallika Sherawat. Kamal plays ten characters. While K.S. Ravikumar directs the film, Oscar Ravinchandran is the producer.

Almost 90 per cent of the film has been shot, according to sources. The shooting started in Chennai. The overseas locations included America, Japan, Malaysia and Thailand. Returning to India, the shooting continued in Mumbai and Hyderabad.

The remaining 10 per cent of the film will have the sea and its vicinity as the backdrop for action showing the awesome scenes of the 2004 Tsunami which left a trail of death and destruction along the coast from Indonesia to south India.

To make these scenes look realistic, an artificial sea over an extent of two acres is being created near the fishing hamlet, Royapuram, on the outskirts of Chennai. Work on creating this set has been going on for the last one month under the direction of Thota Tharani.

It is said that "Dasavatharam" will be the first film ever to have such a set with an artificial sea and a few houses some distance away recapturing the devastating tsunami.

The shooting of the tsunami scenes is scheduled to be completed by the end of this month. Production-related work will be taken up in July and completed in October. The film will be ready for Deepavali release this year.
