Kamal Haasan while speaking at the audio launch function of Sathya Movies-Sathya Jyothi Films' "Jayam Kondan" in Chennai on June 7 said corporate houses could not be stopped from entering Tamil film production and allayed any fears of the industry in this regard.

He said they should see how best the corporates could be used for the growth of the industry and to meet the film-makers' growing needs of technology. One need not be apprehensive about the entry of corporates, he stressed.

Those who had spoken before Kamal referred to the entry of corporate houses. Allaying their fears, Kamal said there was no cause for concern on this count but stressed the need to have appropriate laws to protect the interests of the industry. "This is my personal view. If necessary, the Chief Minister (Mr. Karunanidhi), who has 60 years of association with the film industry, would come to our help," he added.

Echoing the views of Kamal, Sarath Kumar said while they could not prevent corporate houses from entering the film industry, they should develop and be prepared to meet the situation created by the entry of corporate houses.

Referring to the impression that artistes were paid high remunerations by corporate houses, Sarath Kumar said payments to artistes depended on market conditions and no one demanded a higher payment.
