Chennai, May 19 (IANS) Mumbai-based media company UTV has inked a deal to co-produce three Tamil movies with ace director K. Selvaraghavan's firm Double Zero, publicists said here Monday.

The deal will provide opportunities for new directors, Selvaraghavan told the media.

"While one of the films will feature my brother Dhanush as its hero, we are looking at other directors who will finalise the rest of the cast," Selvaraghavan said.

At present, besides directing "Aayirathil Oruvan" starring Karthi and Reema Sen, Selvaraghavan is also making untitled Hindi venture for Mumbai-based film maker Boney Kapoor, sources revealed.

Selvaraghavan shot to fame, along with sibling Dhanush, through "Kaadal Kondein" in 2003 that also established the career of actress Sonia Aggarwal.

Though his subsequent movies including the critically acclaimed "7G Rainbow Colony" did not set the cash registers ringing, selection of offbeat subjects and a distinct narrative style has set apart this mechanical engineer, who strayed into filmdom to assist his father and director Kasthoori Raja.

UTV also has a partnership with the Radhika Sarath Kumar-owned Radaan Mediaworks (India) Ltd to produce Tamil films.
