'Vana Yuddham' awaits censor clearance

Tamil-Kannada bilingual ‘Vana Yuddham’, said to be the true-life story of the slain forest brigand Veerappan, has crossed legal hurdles and is now awaiting clearance by the Censor Board. The makers hope to get the clearance in the next few days. AMR Ramesh has directed the film.

Late Kannada icon Rajkumar’s family will be the first to watch the film after its clearance by the censors. Parts of the film cover the period during which Rajkumar had been abducted by the Veerappan gang and held captive in the forest.

‘Aadukulam’ Kishore plays Veerappan who died in a STF operation. Suresh Oberai and Arjun play important roles. Lakshmi Rai, Shika and Vijayalakshmi don the characters of women in Veerappan’s life.

The film has no song and dance sequences per se, but the makers plan to shoot a promotional song with the film’s leading ladies and may be some other members of the crew. Emil composes this song.

Ramesh says the song is meant only to promote the film before its release. This will be given to TV channels and theatres.
