Veteran Makeup artiste and producer Peethambram passed away

Peethambram (91), former Tamil Nadu chief minister M G Ramachandran's make-up artiste and father of director P Vasu, passed away in a City Hospital yesterday. He was the only one artiste, who worked for two chief ministers at that time (MGR and NTR). He also have worked with superstar Rajnikanth in his yesteryear super hit 'Murattu Kaalai'. He has also produced some memorable films including 'Yugandhar' and 'Annadhammula Anubandam' in Telugu.

Since he suffered from kidney failure, he was given dialysis on a regular basis in a private hospital, Mylapore. Yesterday afternoon he was reached his worst health condition and finally stopped his breathe. He is survived by his sons Vidhyasagar, Vasu, Vimal and daughters Vanaja, Vijayalakshmi. The funeral rites took place today afternoon at Besant Nagar crematorium.
