Nelson's maiden directorial venture 'Vettai Mannan' starring Simbu has been in the news for some time now, but very little has come to be known about the film.

The young director now reveals that it is a gripping story of a villain who eventually becomes a hero. The film deals with a completely different aspect of the life of a gangster. In fact, it is a fantasy film; not a regular gangster flick, he says The story is told in a 'particular mood' with magic and adventure.

A visual communications graduate who was into television for six years before foraying into film direction, Nelson says Simbu and he were classmates in school and he worked with Simbu in ‘Vallavan after college. After a six-year TV stint, he came up with the 'Vettai Mannan' script, which impressed Simbu. Though it is a big budget film, Nic Arts Chakravarthy has backed the project, Nelson claims.

The film will feature three heroines. Deeksha Seth and Hansika are two of them. The third heroine may be a foreigner who will appear in a cameo role. Deeksha is a girl next-door while Hansika is a gangster.

Nelson plans to shoot a fight sequence in Brazil using Capoeira, the ancient martial art form of that country. The services of Hollywood technicians will be utilized for this sequence.

Almost 50 per cent of the film is over. It will be ready for release in August.
