Vikatan ventures into film production

Vikatan Talkies, the production house of one of the oldest and popular Tamil magazine 'Ananda Vikatan', which has been producing television serials, is venturing into film production.

The first film to be made under the banner of Vikatan Talkies is titled "Siva Manasula Sakthi" (SMS) featuring Jeeva and Anuya in the lead roles.

Jeeva is starring in this film after his "Katradu Tamizh".

In "Siva Manasula Sakthi", the actor plays the lead character of a lucky-go-happy guy, looking like himself.

"It is a fun-filled film with all the ingredients for a box-office hit," says Jeeva, expressing happiness for getting the opportunity to work for a big media like Vikatan Talkies.

For Anuya who is a student of the Pune Film Institute, SMS is her first outing. She dons the role of Sakthi.

Rajesh directs the film while Sakthi Saravanan is the cinematographer. Yuvan Shankar Raja scores the music.

Giving details of the venture, producer B. Srinivasan reportedly said that when Vikatan Talkies considered entering the big screen, they were sure they wanted a story that's a "complete entertainer" and. Director Rajesh came up with one such story.

"When I met the producer, he was not only glad but also said this was the story they were looking for," Rajesh said.
