Vikram Prabhu, Gautham likely in new 'Agni Nakshtram'

Vikram Prabhu and Gautham are the most likely choices to reprise their fathers, Prabhu and Karthik, in the new edition of ‘Agni Nakshtram’.

The original ‘Agni Nakshtram’, directed by Mani Ratnam in 1988, was a classic hit featuring Prabhu and Karthik as half-brothers in perpetual conflict, both claiming legitimacy as sons of a common father (Vijayakumar).

Simbu-starrer ‘Osthe’ makers are believed to be remaking the film. Producer Ramesh plans to do the film in Tamil and Telugu. Director Dharani may helm the project and talks are being held with him.

It is said Ramesh has Vikram and Gautham in mind for the lead roles, which their fathers played with verve a quarter century ago. Both the youngsters are said to be keen to reprise their dads in the remake.

The project will start rolling in December after Mani Ratnam’s ‘Kadal’ starring Gautham hits the screens.
