After his latest film 'Thimiru" and two earlier successive hits, actor Vishal is emerging as a new young hero in Tamil Cinema. With "Thimiru" proving to be a super-hit after having had a fantastic opening, he has bagged a new film, "Sivapathigaram', to be directed by Karu Palaniappan who's earlier popular hit was "Parthiban Kanavu".

Fast rising Malayalam actress Mamta Mohandas plays the heroine in "Sivapathigaram." She is making her debut in Tamil with this film.

Palaniappan said, "It's is a fast-paced movie based on a social issue. There are no villains. It is the situation that creates an undercurrent of tension in the story."

Vishal's first two releases were "Chellamae" and "Sandakozhi'. With "Thimiru he has done three films in three years. "I am willing to bide my time and wait for worthy projects," he says.

Vishal was not new to cinema. His father G.K. Reddy was a producer. Brother Ajay Krishna has done a couple of films playing the hero. Now Krishna is helping his brother to consolidate his position in cinema. Initially, Vishal very much wanted to work as Ram Gopal Varma's assistant in Mumbai, but as he was persuaded by his parents to stay on in Chennai, he joined actor Arjun's unit and worked in two Arjun-directed films, "Vedam" and "Ezhumalai'.

Vishal got a big break when Shankar's associate Gandhi Krishna gave him his first chance in "Chellamae". His second film "Sandakozhi" directed by Lingusamy who has known Vizhal for 12 years, was released one year and three months after "Chellamae".

While he paired with Reema Sen in "Chellamae" and with Meera Jasmin in Sandakozhi", he was back to Reema Sen in "Thimiru".

Today he is considered as the fastest rising young hero in the trade. He seems quite determined not to fall back.
