Viyakanth's 150th film 'Sabari' launched

The shooting of 'Captain' Vijayakanth's 150th film "Sabari' was' launched at AVM Studios in Chennai on Aug.27 (Vinayaka Chathurthi Day).


This film is to be produced by Salem A.Chandraasekharan, who became famous with "Kallaan" and "Ghajini".Suresh, who has made "Arasu and "Gambeeram",is directing "Sabari". He has also written the screenplay for the film, while the dialogue is by Pattukkottai Prabhakar.


Vijayakanth plays the lead role of a doctor with humanistic ideals. Not only patients but society as a whole is his concern and he works for both without political considerations. Featured with him are two heroines - Jothirmayee and Malavika. This is a new character which he has not done before.


Y.N. Murali handles the camera and Manisharma scores the music.


Chennai, Rameswaram and Jaipur are among the places where the shooting will be done. No news about "Dharmapuri" has appeared for some time now. But it is learnt that the shooting is in progress. Vijayakanth's political activities have overshowed his film activities after the May Assembly elections. He was elected from the Virudhunagar constituency and is the lone member representing his party, Desiya Murpokku Kazhagam, in the State Assembly.
