Yuvan Shankar Raja to produce films

Music maestro Ilayaraja's son and music director Yuvan Shankar Raja is diversifying into film production. He has started his own production house named "Pink Stone Entertainment Ltd.

The first movie from his production house will be directed by S.D. Sabha. 'Saroja' Shiva will play the lead role. The heroine is yet to be selected. Yuvan has written the story for this film in which romance and comedy predominate.

Talking to mediapersons, Yuvan Shankar Raja said the main reason why he has started his company is that he will get a lot of "creative freedom".

"I have a lot of new ideas in music and want to explore them in my own way. I want a place and space to express my passion which I cannot afford to do with other producers," he explained.

He said he loves watching good movies and analyzing them. He too wants to produce good films .He has launched "Pink Stone Entertainment Ltd" with the intention of giving a break to youngsters in the field.

The new company will start functioning from next month. Yuvan said he would produce not only small-budget films but also mega movies casting top stars.

This new venture would not distract him from the field of music. He would remain focused on music, Yuvan stressed. He said he has formed a separate team to deal with matters relating to film production.

He said he is also interested in acting if there are stories suited to him. He has dropped out of Selvaraghavan's "Ayirathil Oruvan" because of difference of opinion between them, he added.

On remixing old songs, he said people like it and he uses old songs for remixing only after getting the permission of the copyright holders.
