Aamir's 'Taare Zameen Par' dubbed in Tamil, Telugu

Bollywood actor Aamir Khan's "Taare Zameen Par" has been dubbed in Tamil and Telugu and will be released on Sept.12.


The film won the Gollapudi Srinivas National Award (carrying a cash prize of Rest 1.5 lakh and a memento) which Amir personally received at a function at the Kamaraj Arangam in Chennai on Aug.12.


Aamir, who arrived in Chennai the previous day, addressed a media conference along with Gollapudi Maruthi Rao who instituted the award in memory of his son.


Aamir has directed the film and also acted in it. Actor Surya has dubbed for him in the Tamil version, "Vaal Natchathiram". The Telugu version is titled "Nelameedha Taaralu".


Pyramid Saimira are the distributors.


The music for the Tamil and Telugu versions will be released by the end of this month.


The film tells the story of a dyslexic eight-year-old's struggle within a conventional education system that brands him 'idiot, duffer, lazy and crazy'. Aamir is the teacher who helps the boy regain confidence.


Addressing the media conference Aamir said he chose to direct the film for its great script and storyline. Every parent would be able to relate in some way to the film. He had received requests from different parts of the country to have the film made into other Indian languages, he said.


Referring to the Tamil hit "Ghajini" in which he plays Surya's role in the Hindi remake, Aamir said he enjoyed working with the director A.R. Murugadoss and co-star Asin.
