Censors to call for meeting with Tollywood again in November
Oct 19, 2011 HPThe censors will call for a meeting of representatives of the Telugu film industry early next month to sort out matters that have become irritants.
This is the second time in less than four months that the regional office of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) would be holding a meeting with Tollywood film makers. The last meeting was on July 14 at the A P Film Chamber of Commerce at Filmnagar.
While the last meeting itself was in a sense unprecedented as the censors had never held such consultations with the film industry before, the second meeting planned for November is not without provocation. If the ingenuity some filmmakers are showing in trying to bypass the rules is one reason, some of the measures taken to streamline the process of censorship are simply not being followed by Tollywood.
